A collaboration with John Legend and The Roots is nothing short of Great Music. They both have been producing exceptional music for years now, so them coming together only made sense. The two came up with the concept for this album back in 2008 during the time of the Elections; to produce Political Soul Music, as I would put it. It has taken two years to complete the album but upon listening it is evident why it took so long, music of this magnitude takes time. The album consists of covers of the likes of Don Hathaway and Marvin Gaye making it reminiscent of that “60’s Soul Music” that uplifted and inspired.
Wake Up is in stores now. It is definitely worth the buy.
